What’s Up Wednesday | September 2022

Hi, friends! I’m linking up with Sheaffer and Shay today for What’s Up Wednesday, where we share what’s been up with us this month. It’s a super fun What’s Up Wednesday because it’s been quite a month around here — keep reading to see the exciting news. 😊

What we’ve been eating: I am ready to get into the fall mood with cozy comfort food like my easy slow cooker chili. Besides that, I’ve just been trying to cook more at home, think chicken stir-fry or broccoli cheddar chicken and noodle casserole.

What I’m reminiscing about: We went to San Diego earlier this month and had the best time. I can’t remember the last time we went on a trip where we weren’t also getting content for the blog. As much as I love documenting and sharing our travels, it was nice to unplug.

What I’m loving: I’m still loving this tennis dress. It’s so soft and comfortable that I keep reaching for it, whether running errands or lounging at home. Also, there are built-in shorts underneath, which I love, so I don’t have to worry about flashing people, haha!

What we’ve been up to: If you follow me on Instagram or subscribe to my monthly newsletter, you already know that we got engaged when we were in San Diego! I’ll dedicate a whole post next week to share how he proposed, more pics, and ring details.

What I’m dreading: Nothing; I’m living my best life because October through December is the best time of the year. Also, I’m soaking up the fiancé titles and this new season of life, which has been super fun.

What I’m working on: We’ve been so busy the last few months that I’m working on getting back into a routine now that we don’t have another trip until mid-December. As much as I love traveling, I thrive on and have been craving routine.

What I’m excited about: The pumpkin & chili party at the local farm that we go to every year. We always get our pumpkins and grab a chili dinner there (so delicious!). It’s one of my favorite fall traditions.

What I’m watching/reading: We’re watching Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story on Netflix. As for what I’m reading, I’m currently reading What Makes Love Last? by John Gottman. I’m about halfway through and thoroughly enjoy it so far.

What I’m listening to: 48 Hours podcast. I’m running out of true crime podcasts, having already caught up on Dateline, Crime Junkie, Snapped, and 20/20. To this day, there’s just nothing like Serial season 1.

What I’m wearing: This skirt (which comes in three other colors) got delivered earlier this week, and I’m already obsessed. It’s the perfect transitional skirt — pair with booties now and tights and tall boots when it gets chillier.

What I’m doing this weekend: Originally, we planned to swing by our house, but we’re waiting until Tuesday since we’ll be in the area having to take Copper to the groomers. So instead, we’re going to the jeweler to resize my ring because it’s too big.

What I’m looking forward to next month: Our annual state fair, the pumpkin & chili party at the local farm, carving pumpkins for Halloween — basically all the fall things! I need to finalize and share my fall bucket list soon.

As always, thanks for reading. What’s up with you this month? Let me know in the comments! To see my previous What’s Up Wednesday posts, click here. xo
