What’s Up Wednesday | March 2023

Happy almost April, friends! Frankly, it was an unproductive month for me, and I’m ready to put March in my rearview mirror. However, I have quite a few exciting upcoming things that I’m sharing in today’s What’s Up Wednesday edition, a link-up with Sheaffer and Shay, where we share what’s been up with us this month.

What we’ve been eating: Last week, I ordered our first ButcherBox and am excited to see if it works for us. I’ll share an in-depth review once my box arrives and I use it for a couple of recipes. In the meantime, order your box here to try it with us!

What I’m reminiscing about: If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen my weekly hiking stories. We’ve been hiking every weekend to train for our upcoming Havasupai trip, and we choose a different hike every weekend. It got me reminiscing about our old hikes, like the one pictured below that Brett snapped of me during Tom’s Thumb trail circa March 2021 — I highly recommend that hike!

What I’m loving: Two years ago, I bought these sandals; they’re one of my go-to shoes every summer. I’ve worn and love them so much that I also ordered this pair this month. I’ll have both of these in my summer rotation this year.

What we’ve been up to: After 19 months, our house is finally almost done! It’s been a long journey, but our builder gave us a closing date last week. They’ve installed our cabinets and flooring, and it’s finally starting to look like a house inside. On the outside, they still need to paint our front door, install our garage door, and pour our concrete driveway, among other things.

What I’m dreading: While I’m excited about our Havasupai trip, I’m dreading the hiking part, especially carrying all my gear. I plan on sharing a whole post after we return, so if you have any specific questions, let me know!

What I’m working on: I’ve been working hard on growing and monetizing this blog over the last two years. As it grows, I’m excited to continue working with more brands. I recently finalized a collaboration with a resort in Hawaii, and I can’t wait to share more in the coming months!

What I’m excited about: We’ve finally started booking our accommodations for our Europe trip, and everything books up quickly in Positano. Luckily, we managed to snag the last room in a villa, and I’m so excited about breakfast on the private terrace with the most incredible views.

What I’m watching/reading: We’re finally on the last season of Shameless — 11 seasons is a lot to commit to and watch. We took breaks throughout the show, but I’m ready to finish so we can binge the latest season of You. As for what I’m reading, I just picked up Rules of Estrangement by Joshua Coleman. Also, I recently shared another book review with some great twisty thrillers.

What I’m listening to: Brett just turned on the 9 pm news, so I’m currently listening to the seven-day forecast while I finish this blog post for tomorrow. It’s so unlike me to procrastinate, but like I said, most unproductive month ever.

What I’m wearing: I’m obsessed with this two-piece set (top and skort) I recently ordered. They come in various colors, but sizes are limited, so snag what you want while it’s still available! It’s perfect for any upcoming spring and summer vacations.

What I’m doing this weekend: Per usual, we plan to do our weekly hike and house check. Other than that, I want to start incorporating more local Phoenix content into the blog, so I’m hoping to convince Brett to check out some coffee shops — stay tuned.

What I’m looking forward to next month: It’s my birthday month, and I’m so excited to see what 27 holds! I genuinely believe it’ll be the best year yet, with how many things we have on the horizon.

As always, thanks for stopping by every week. What’s up with you this month? Let me know in the comments! xo

Yay for a move in date!! That is so exciting; it took us waaay longer to build our house than we had originally planned to but in the end it was all worth it. Your hiking trip sounds intimidating– I love hiking but I am a low gear/ day hike kind of gal. I’m excited to hear more about your Hawaii resort collaboration!

That’s so great that your house is almost finished. All the best for your upcoming big hike, I can totally understand how carrying all that gear would be daunting. But I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time.
