What’s Up Wednesday | February 2021

Happy Wednesday, friends! Today I’m linking up with Sheaffer and Shay for What’s Up Wednesday, where we share what’s been up with us this month.

What we’ve been eating: I’ve been making a lot of three-ingredient Trader Joe’s meals lately. They’re perfect for lazy nights when I want to throw something together quickly.

What I’m reminiscing about: I’m already reminiscing about when we went to Flagstaff for Valentine’s Day. It was lowkey and relaxing, which was a nice change of pace from our usual trips. For a full recap, click here.

What I’m loving: I love my new car, Snowflake! Nothing panned out for a while, but Brett kept telling me not to settle. Well, I finally found one that had everything I wanted and more. She’s a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited 2.0T in Quartz White Pearl with an Espresso/Gray interior.

What we’ve been up to: It’s business as usual around here. Brett’s still working at the hospital, and I’m still working from home. It was an adjustment initially, but I love working from home now.

What I’m dreading: I’m certainly not looking forward to having a car payment.

What I’m working on: I’m working on an itinerary for a trip we’re taking in May. I love planning trips almost as much as the trips themselves. My stepdad makes fun of me, but I create an entire spreadsheet — do you do this, or are you more fly by the seat of your pants?

What I’m excited about: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m excited about camping more this year. I’m hoping that it’ll be warm enough next month to go.

What I’m watching/reading: I can’t count how many times I’ve watched Emily in Paris, but I love playing it in the background while I work. As for what I’m reading, I’m currently reading Know My Name by Chanel Miller.

What I’m listening to: Crime Junkie. I love true crime podcasts, and Crime Junkie is one of my favorites. I’ve been slowly making my way through all the episodes, and I highly recommend the Bryce Laspisa episode. That case has stuck with me, and I frequently wonder what happened to him.

What I’m wearing:

Sweatshirt

I’ve been living in this sherpa sweatshirt. It’s not only cute and soft but extremely warm. I wore it in Flagstaff when it was in the thirties, and I was fine. It comes in lots of other cute colors as well.

What I’m doing this weekend: We’re going to The Phoenician for afternoon tea. It’s been on my to-do list for a while, so I’m excited we’re finally going. I’m more excited about the food than the tea part, haha.

As always, thanks for stopping by for What’s Up Wednesday. What’s up with you this month? Let me know in the comments! xo

Kelly! This was super fun and cute! Congrats on the new car. I’m a spreadsheet travel planner, too. Would love to see pics of your tea room food — I’m with you on food over tea.

  4. Congrats on finding a car that you really love! I’m so ready for nicer weather so I can get outside more. Have fun at your tea! I’m not a tea drinker, but I love tea because the food is great. 😉

I absolutely create a spreadsheet of our trip with day by day itineraries! My husband and kids kind of hate it but I just can’t help myself.

  6. Love your sweatshirt. As far as planning for trips– if we are going out of the country, yes I plan. If we are just traveling from state to state– not so much. Sometimes it’s fun to just go with the flow. 🙂
