What’s Up Wednesday | September 2021

Today I’m linking up with Sheaffer and Shay for What’s Up Wednesday, where we share what’s been up with us this month.

What we’ve been eating: We’ve been getting into the fall mood with cozy comfort food like chili. If you missed it last week, I shared my favorite easy slow cooker chili recipe on the blog. Besides that, we’ve just been trying to eat more at home.

What I’m reminiscing about: This month celebrates two years of living in Phoenix. We planned to celebrate at the first place we went to after moving here, but the restaurant permanently closed last month. It was a bummer because it was our go-to Mexican spot in our neighborhood. So, instead, we tried Taco Guild, located inside an old church, and the food was phenomenal — I highly recommend it.

What I’m loving: I treated myself to breakfast at The Canal Club, which is in The Scott Resort & Spa. It’s a popular Instagram spot for people who visit Scottsdale, and I understand why — the resort is beautiful, and the food is delicious.

What we’ve been up to: I can’t wait to share a project that has consumed most of our free time. But that deserves an entire blog post, so be on the lookout for that reveal next week.

What I’m dreading: I’m getting my eyebrows touched up (microblading) next weekend after almost three years. While I’m excited to get them done, I always dread the first pass since there isn’t any pre-numbing cream.

What I’m working on: Still trying to get ahead on my blog posts. One of my goals is to post consistently every week, and it helps me if I stay ahead for weeks when I don’t have as much time to blog.

What I’m excited about: It’s finally cooling off in Arizona; the pumpkin & chili party at our local farm; and movie marathons at home. Fall is my favorite time of year leading up to Christmas.

What I’m watching/reading: We’re binging Prison Break, and I’ve never seen it before. I’m here for all the Michael Scofield and Dr. Tancredi scenes — we just started season 2, so please, no spoilers! As for what I’m reading, I’m currently rereading Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty and planning to watch the show afterward. Also, I recently shared another book review with some great reads.

What I’m listening to: Are any of you One Tree Hill fans? I love listening to the Drama Queens podcast every week, where the girls rewatch and recap an episode each week. It’s fun to hear snippets of what happened behind the scenes and their analysis of each character and storyline.

What I’m wearing: Still rocking this dress — cute and casual. Since I’m still working from home, I get dressed up about twice a week. However, I’m excited for the weather to cool down, so I can break out booties.

What I’m doing this weekend: Originally, we planned on camping, but we’ve been so busy lately that we decided to have a chill weekend in town. We don’t have any plans, but we’re considering hitting the casino.

What I’m looking forward to next month: I’m returning to St. Louis for the first time since I moved to Phoenix. I can’t believe it’s been over two years, so I’m looking forward to catching up with my family and friends.

As always, thanks for stopping by. What’s up with you this month? Let me know in the comments! xo
