What’s Up Wednesday | October 2022

How is it already November next week? It just started cooling off here in Phoenix, and we’re already planning for Thanksgiving (even Christmas decor is already out in stores!). This month has flown by in a blur of enjoying all the fall things between the short window of cool weather and when holiday festivities begin. In the meantime, I’m linking up with Sheaffer and Shay for What’s Up Wednesday, where we share what’s been up with us this month.

What we’ve been eating: I’ve been embracing the season and making lots of fall comfort meals like my easy slow cooker chili, slow cooker beef bourguignon, and pumpkin and oregano-butter gnocchi from my favorite cookbook.

What I’m reminiscing about: Tomorrow marks one year since we adopted Copper. It’s funny to look back and see how things have changed. He has crate training down, but unfortunately, we have to crate him when we leave because he started chewing on the baseboards and furniture when left alone. Also, he has potty training down, except for the rare accident when he gets too excited playing with his ball.

What I’m loving: Friends, you need this dress. I ordered it for our fall engagement photos, but it’s also perfect for fall and Thanksgiving. It’s under $40, comes in numerous colors, and is incredibly soft and flattering. I’ll be wearing this one on repeat all season!

What we’ve been up to: We’ve been making our way through my fall bucket list. This past weekend we went to the state fair and the pumpkin and chili party at our local farm, and we have a couple of other items planned for next month.

What I’m working on: I have been working on multiple trip itineraries. Anyone who knows me knows I love creating spreadsheets for traveling. We’re going to Vegas in December, and I just finished planning and making reservations wherever possible.

What I’m excited about: Have you heard about AmazingCo? Brett and I are excited about our mystery picnic next weekend. AmazingCo operates in over 40 cities, so check for an experience near you. How it works: you receive digital access to clues for you to solve, guiding you around your selected area to collect your goodies (mix of cheeses, meats, bread, and dessert). At the final destination, you get to enjoy your delicious picnic spread.

What I’m watching/reading: We’re watching all the horror movies from Nope to The Black Phone to The Shining. As for what I’m reading, I’m currently reading Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan. Also, I recently shared another book review with some great reads.

What I’m listening to: Typically, I listen to podcasts but recently, I’ve been listening to Ed Sheeran and The 1975. We’re going to The 1975 concert in a month, so I’ve been listening to their new album.

What I’m wearing: Now that it’s getting chilly here, I’ve pulled out my three-piece lounge set (I have the white, but it comes in tons of colors). It can also be mixed and matched with other pieces to create more looks!

What I’m doing this weekend: It’s going to be a fun weekend with an engagement photoshoot and pumpkin carving. I share more frequently on Instagram stories, so if you don’t already, I’d love for you to join me there!

What I’m looking forward to next month: It’ll be a busy and fun November — we’re going to an NBA game, an NFL game, our mystery picnic, two concerts, a show; putting up our Christmas tree; and both our moms are coming for Thanksgiving.

As always, thanks for stopping by and supporting my blog. What’s been up with you this month? Let me know in the comments! To see my previous What’s Up Wednesday posts, click here. xo
