Vitamix Review + 3 Quick, Easy Recipes

Before Brett and I lived together, I pulled out my family’s blender to make a smoothie on rare occasions, so when Brett suggested we invest in a Vitamix, I was taken aback by the price tag. He kept talking about it and trying to convince me, even showing me YouTube videos. I relented, and now after a year and a half of owning one, I can confirm that we’re both obsessed with the Vitamix. Today, I’m going to share a Vitamix review and why it’s superior to other blenders, as well as three quick, easy recipes we frequently make using ours. Vitamix is not sponsoring this post; we genuinely love our Vitamix.

Vitamix Review:

  • Performance — We immediately noticed how well it blended everything compared to our previous blender. It can handle frozen fruit, veggies, ice, proteins, peanut butter, grains, and nuts. Also, we’ve found the Vitamix to blend perfectly every time, which is critical.
  • Quality — A reason places like Smoothie King use Vitamix is quality. They don’t require frequent repairs, which would negatively impact stores.
  • User-friendly — While there are manual settings, we typically use the programmed settings for smoothies, frozen desserts, hot soups, purées, and self-cleaning. I love that I can press a button and walk away while the blender does all the work.
  • Versatility — In addition to smoothies, it can make sauces, dips + spreads, condiments, nut butter, soups, salads, dressings, batters, doughs, flours, baby food, and desserts, among other things.
  • Warranty — Our specific Vitamix came with a 10-year standard warranty.

Roasted Cauliflower Soup

Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cauliflower
  • 1 sweet onion
  • 4 garlic cloves unpeeled
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp dried cilantro
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • parsley optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Chop the cauliflower into bite-size florets.
  • On a baking sheet, toss the cauliflower florets with olive oil. Then add cumin, dried cilantro, salt, and pepper.
  • Slice the onion in half and leave the outer skin. Rub a little olive oil on the onions before placing them on the baking sheet as well.
  • Cut one end off the unpeeled garlic cloves. Wrap the garlic cloves along with a drizzle of olive oil in aluminum foil and place it on the baking sheet with the vegetables.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven for 30 minutes.
  • Reserve a few florets for garnish before dumping the remaining cauliflower into the Vitamix. Remove the outer skin of the onion and the garlic cloves and add to the blender.
  • Pour the vegetable broth into the blender. Blend on the programmed setting for hot soup.
  • Serve the roasted cauliflower soup in a bowl and top with reserved roasted cauliflower florets and parsley (optional).

Yes! I love my Vitamix…definitely a bit of a splurge, but I’ve had it for a good 5 years now and have never had an issue with it- still going strong! My favorite recipes have got to be Cashew Sauce, Almond Milk, and my morning green juices (fresh kale, celery, cucumber, green apple, ginger, and a splash of orange juice). Yum!

  15. That’s great it’s worth the money. I really want to try making smoothies more, but it can be tough to blend everything up the way it needs to be to taste…well…smooth. LOL

The Vitamix is definitely towards the top of my wish list. I’m the kind of person that will try to keep my small appliances for years until they’re unusable, which is why I haven’t gotten a Vitamix yet. My little blender is still kickin’. 😂 Thank you you for sharing, I might need to get one after reading this!
