Random Acts of Kindness

Outfit

A lot is going on in the world these days, leaving many of us feeling anxious, helpless, and sad. I think everyone would benefit from more random acts of kindness. Sometimes the smallest gestures can make a big difference for both the giver and the receiver. Hopefully, this feel-good post will brighten your day and motivate you to spread kindness!

  1. Leave a note in a library book for the next person to find.
  2. Give a generous tip.
  3. Write a little note and slip it into your partner’s lunchbox.
  4. Clean out your closet and donate no longer-needed items.
  5. Buy a coffee for the person behind you in the drive-through.
  6. Let someone go ahead of you in the checkout line with fewer items.
  7. Make a conscious effort to be a friendlier driver.
  8. Leave goodies for your deliveryman (not just during the holidays!).
  9. Hold the door open for the person behind you with eye contact and a friendly smile.
  10. Return a stray cart at the grocery store.
  11. Write a positive review for a local business you love.
  12. Bring treats to your neighbors.
  13. Compliment a stranger.
  14. Volunteer.
  15. Send a gratitude email to a coworker.

Screenshot this list and use it throughout the week — let’s make a difference! I’m always looking for new random acts of kindness ideas, so how do you pay it forward? Let me know in the comments. xo

  6. Fun ideas! I like the one about leaving a note in a library book. I have heard though, that paying for someone next in line (like for coffee) is sometimes more annoying for the workers than anything – so maybe use that money to tip them. 🙂

I really like #11: Write a positive review for a local business you love.

People often write negative reviews for places they feel strongly for but not necessarily positive reviews but they’re extremely important for local businesses.

I’m going to write one this week. Thanks for the reminder

My boys and I once cut out hearts from construction paper and wrote little notes that we tucked into random library books. It was such a great way to motivate them to write too!

  20. What a lovely post, and just what we need right now! I’ve started sending praise emails. If I get good service in a shop, a nice conversation with a bus driver etc… I try to get their name and email management or head office to try and get them recognised. A small thing, but I think letting people know when they’ve lifted your day is important.

Let love and kindness be the order of the day.

I love this so much! I emailed it to myself! I have a small list of similar ideas in a notepad somewhere, you inspire me to dig it up and keep adding to it. My favorite is writing reviews for my fave businesses, it can mean so much to them.
