One Day in Bisbee, Arizona Itinerary

bisbee arizona

Bisbee is a unique little town with a funky art and culture scene. I’ve wanted to visit this quaint mining town since I saw a picture of the Main St on Instagram, so we decided to make a quick weekend road trip here when our original plans got scrapped. While it was cute and fun, all the mosquitoes were out in full force from all the rain. Lesson learned: carry bug spray in my purse at all times. We made the best of the circumstances and still had a blast, but I can’t wait to go back in the winter to explore more (and maybe even squeeze in a hike!). In the meantime, scroll through for my one-day Bisbee, Arizona itinerary.

We left Phoenix on Friday night and arrived late at our Airbnb in Bisbee (about a 3-hour drive), so we could hit the ground running early Saturday morning. Then we left Sunday morning, stopping at Tombstone and Tucson on the way home. You can fit a lot into one day, but we would’ve loved to stay another day just because we loved it so much.

Where To Stay:

The hotels book up fast, so I recommend booking as soon as possible. We had to stay at an Airbnb Friday night because all the hotels we looked at were full. However, we snagged the last suite at the Letson Loft Hotel for Saturday evening. They only have eight rooms which fill up fast because it’s located on Main St, making it walking distance to most things. Another thing to note: they serve complimentary breakfast and free wifi.

Our suite featured beautiful exposed brick walls, a sitting area (very comfortable!), and skylights. The room was clean and comfy — my two priorities when staying anywhere. It was perfect for a little romantic weekend getaway, and I’d love to stay here again.

Other places we haven’t stayed but want to check out are the Bisbee Grand Hotel and Copper Queen Hotel. They’re both allegedly haunted if you’re into that kind of thing.

What To Do:

bisbee arizona

Queen Mine Tour — Descend 1,500 feet underground and travel back in time on this tour, learning about the mining days. Such a fun adventure, and the tour guides are funny and highly educated about the mine. I recommend reserving the 9 am tour for a more intimate experience and to avoid the crowds. Hard hats are required and provided. A must-do when you’re in Bisbee!

Lavender Pit — A former open pit mine near the famous Copper Queen Mine. Lavender Pit got its name from Harrison M. Lavender, not the color. Go to the overlook and admire how big open pit mines can be.

Erie Street — This is an abandoned street with rusting vehicles lining the street. Most stores are empty, but Bisbee Breakfast Club is here (we want to eat there next time!). Even if you don’t eat there, it’s worth strolling through and snapping some fun photos.

Old Bisbee Ghost Tour — Take this tour with a ghost guide who walks you through town, sharing the haunted history of Bisbee. Ghost Adventures even filmed an episode in Bisbee that we now want to watch.

The Bisbee Séance Room — Join Magic Kenny Bang Bang for an intimate magic show infused with the mysterious history of Bisbee. He covers similar stories to the ghost tour, but it’s a different experience. The magic show was fun and interactive; I highly recommend making a reservation. Afterward, Brett and I spent all night speculating how the tricks worked and even tried Googling it without much luck.

Where To Eat:

Bisbee Coffee Company — We popped in 3 times in 24 hours, lol. It’s a cute local coffee shop. The coffee is good, but I’d skip the smoothies (not sure if it was a one-off experience, but it wasn’t sweet at all).

Bisbee’s Table — The perfect spot for a casual lunch. I ordered the mussels as my entree, and they were delicious. Brett got the West Texas Millionaire burger with sweet potato fries and said they were good and very filling.

Old Bisbee Brewing Company — This brewery has a perfect patio for a beer and snack with friends in the heart of Bisbee. They also offer a yummy root beer for those who prefer something nonalcoholic.

Café Roka — Unassuming from the outside, but this is a culinary must when in Bisbee! If they offer the filet mignon special, order it and thank me later. It was one of the best filets I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot). Don’t forget to save room for dessert too.

I hope this one-day Bisbee, Arizona itinerary is helpful. If you have any questions or additional recommendations, please leave them in the comments! xo
