15 Things About Me

Hi, I’m back. Some of you may have noticed that my site was down a couple of weeks ago. At first, I thought it was an issue on my end. But it turned out to be an issue with my hosting server. The entire situation has been frustrating, but I don’t want to continue dwelling on it. Instead, I’ve decided to start with a clean slate, so please bear with me while I get my blog back up and running. In the meantime, I’m sharing 15 things you might not know about me.

  1. I wish I knew how to _____.
Relax more. I’m a perfectionist, but I’m trying to embrace that being done is better than perfect. Oh, and swim.
  2. Early bird or night owl?
Early bird, I enjoy getting a head start on my day. Also, I can’t stay up late to save my life. I have never pulled an all-nighter, not even in college!
  3. Last thing you splurged on?
A flight since Brett and I decided to forgo buying each other birthday and Christmas gifts this year for more experiences and memories.
  4. Apps that you use every day?
I love Goodbudget for managing my finances & Instagram for watching stories.
  5. Favorite holiday?
There’s nothing I love more than the Christmas season.
  6. #1 vacation destination on your list?
My travel bucket list is long, but an African safari is at the top of my list.
  7. Favorite dessert?
    I’ll take anything with chocolate.
  8. What’s a weird thing about you?
I pour my milk before my cereal. I blame my mom, but old habits die hard.
  9. Pet peeve?
Nothing annoys me more than when people are chronically late.
  10. Messy or tidy?
I would say tidy, but Brett would probably beg to differ.
  11. Print books or e-books?
Print books forever. I love holding a physical book and turning the pages, seeing my progress through a book as the remaining pages dwindle, and the smell, of course.
  12. Summer or winter?
I certainly prefer winter now that I live in Phoenix. The summer heat is brutal here.
  13. What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
I’ll never turn down Sheet Pan Steak with Lemon Zucchini + Brett’s mashed potatoes.
  14. What is something you can’t live without that most people consider a luxury?
Eyelash extensions since my natural lashes are flat, short, and sparse.
  15. What’s worth spending more on to get the best?
I prefer quality over quantity. Spending more on items that will last longer is worth it, especially on my mattress, cookware, and handbags.

I hope these 15 things about me helped you get to know me a little more. To read more about me, click here. I’ve always enjoyed reading my favorite bloggers’ posts about themselves to get to know them better. I also love getting to know my readers, so I hope you’ll share something about yourself with me in the comments! xo

I’m so sorry about your blog! That’s such a terrible experience. This was a great post though to get re-started! I am also a physical print kind of girl. I love holding physical books. I don’t even know how people could use an e-reader!

Thanks for sharing a little bit about you. I live in Jamaica where it’s practically summer every day so I also prefer winter to summer since its usually cooler at that time. Plus my favourite holiday Christmas happens at that time.

Sorry to hear you had some issues with your blog. 🙁 Glad that’s all figured out for you… or that you are back and working/posting again. It’s a bummer when our technology doesn’t work. Super fun post! Loved getting to know you through these questions. I have to agree… an African safari would be so dreamy!!

I love getting to know bloggers a little better! An African Safari is definitely #1 on my travel bucket list. I like ebooks and print books but print will always be very special to me as a librarian. And I like that you included a mattress in what you’ve splurged on. We decided to do that this past year and it’s made such a difference!

  18. These type of posts always fun! I don’t think I’m really an early bird or a night owl. I can be both, but I wouldn’t say I’m more productive in either situation. hah

Oh my goodness I cannot stand it when people are constantly late. This is probably due to the fact that in high school I had an instructor that beat into our heads “to be early is to be on time,to be on time is to be late and if your late you should be executed”. So needless to say, even years after high school I am always early, and if I am even a few minutes late (read: on time) I freak. So, I sympathize with you!

I loved this post! It’s so nice to learn more about other bloggers. I definitely can relate with desiring quality over quantity when it comes to things in life. I’d rather have less of something that’s going to last a long time (even friendships!) than a bunch of “cheaper” things that won’t be as fulfilling. Great post!
